YAKIMA, WA.   Baker Boyer is pleased to announce its $5,000 matching donation to the Yakima Rotary Operation Harvest and their nine food bank partners. Community contributions recently secured the full match, resulting in a total of $10,000 directed toward enhancing food access for families throughout the Yakima Valley.

“With increased need across our regions, organizations like Yakima Rotary Clubs and their annual Rotary Operation Harvest event are essential to making sure families have the resources required to thrive, especially with the government shutdown affecting funding for food programs,” said Mark Kajita, President and CEO of Baker Boyer. “We are proud to support this work to ensure food remains accessible for those who need it. Yakima clients have been very supportive of Baker Boyer throughout the years and this is our way of giving back to this community”

The nine partner food banks supported by Rotary Operation Harvest provide thousands of households with nutritious food each month through walk-up distribution and outreach partnerships that support neighbors facing food insecurity.

“This support ensures that staples like dairy, fresh produce, and proteins continue to reach local families,” said Lisa Lenington, Food Distribution Coordinator for the Yakima Rotary Food Bank. “We are incredibly grateful for Baker Boyer’s generosity and for the community members whose donations made this match possible. Together, we are easing a financial burden many families are struggling with right now.”

This donation reflects Baker Boyer’s long-standing commitment to strengthening communities across the region and supporting organizations that provide vital services to local families.
