Baker Boyer Milton-Freewater branch closed due to severe flooding from a burst pipe

On Jan. 3rd, Baker Boyer discovered that a water pipe burst in the ceiling of the Milton-Freewater branch over the preceding weekend. It caused extensive flooding throughout the building. The water severely damaged the flooring, trim and door frames, drywall and furniture. As a result, the Milton-Freewater location will be closed until further notice while Baker Boyer assesses the damage, causes (weather is believed to be a contributing factor) and cost to renovate.

Baker Boyer is well-positioned to serve clients impacted by this event. The ATM at the Milton-Freewater branch is still fully functioning and can take deposits. Banking transactions, such as transfers, bill pay and check deposits, can also be completed via Digital Banking. The recently launched and drastically improved digital banking platform has been used extensively during the pandemic. Clients can also visit any of the three locations in Walla Walla, the closest just 10 miles away from the Milton-Freewater location on Plaza Way. Clients who need to access their safe deposit boxes can make an appointment by calling (509) 525-2000.

They foresee no interruption in services we provide to business lending and advising clients. These services have been based at their Main Street Walla Walla Headquarters for many years.

Employees who typically work at the Milton-Freewater location have been reassigned to help their clients at their other locations in Walla Walla.
