Baker Boyer Invests in Stronger Communities Through 2025 Giving

WALLA WALLA, Washington — Baker Boyer contributed more than $135,000 to 79 nonprofit and civic organizations in 2025, supporting community health, education, and economic development across the Walla Walla, Yakima, and Tri-Cities regions. Employees also volunteered 1,970 hours with local organizations throughout the year.

“Our giving efforts are guided by the belief that resilient communities are built on a foundation of safety and security,” said Mark H. Kajita, President and CEO of Baker Boyer. “By supporting organizations addressing food insecurity, housing stability, and financial education, we’re helping build stronger, more stable futures across our region.”

In 2025, Baker Boyer focused many of its efforts on addressing food insecurity, partnering with organizations across Washington through matching donations and community collaborations that expanded access to nutritious food for families facing rising costs.

The Bank also supported initiatives focused on housing stability and community care, including multi-year commitments to organizations serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.

Baker Boyer continued to invest in financial education, providing free resources through its Finance Academy and Financial Counselor program. In 2025, 145 students from five schools completed the Finance Academy, building practical skills in budgeting, credit, and long-term financial planning.

Additionally, Baker Boyer hosted a free community event, “Defending Against Fraud: Insights from Cybersecurity & Banking Leaders,” equipping attendees with tools to better protect themselves from evolving financial fraud and cyber threats.

Through charitable giving, education, and volunteerism, Baker Boyer remains committed to supporting organizations and initiatives that help communities grow stronger today and into the future.
