Baker Boyer Commits $25,000 to Christian Aid Center Shelter and Meal Complex

WALLA WALLA, WA — Baker Boyer announced a $25,000 donation to the Christian Aid Center, supporting the construction of its new $10 million shelter for men and meal complex. The Bank will contribute $12,500 this year and an additional $12,500 in 2026 as part of its Legacy Giving Program.
“As a long‑standing part of the Walla Walla community, Baker Boyer is proud to support the Christian Aid Center in this vital endeavor,” said Mark Kajita, President and CEO of Baker Boyer. “This new facility is a critical resource for those in need. We’re honored to contribute to making it a reality.”
The new 18,000-square-foot facility is designed to provide increased dignity, safety, and capacity for individuals and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. Key features will include a men’s shelter, a commercial kitchen and community dining room, and five flexible units for guests who are unable to stay in a congregate living setting.
“We are deeply grateful for this gift and for the longstanding partnership we share with Baker Boyer,” said Jason Wicklund, CEO, of the Christian Aid Center.“ Along with their support and the generosity of others, what began as a vision on paper is becoming a reality—a refuge for those experiencing homelessness, a welcoming table for the hungry, and a place of new beginnings for those wishing to rebuild their lives."
