Baker Boyer is pleased to announce the hiring of Mistee Verhulp as a Family Advisor and Karen Tomerlin as a Trust Advisor for the Tri-Cities location.

Mistee Verhulp, JD, joins the D.S. Baker Advisor team as a Family Advisor bringing a unique skillset of combined legal expertise as well as a passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals and life dreams. Mistee graduated from Gonzaga Law School and has practiced as a licensed attorney prior to joining Baker Boyer. In her role, she will work closely with clients throughout their financial journey. Whether complex or straightforward, her goal is to ensure that the unique needs of each client are met. Being an Eastern Washington native, Mistee stays active in the community currently serving as a Director on the Heads Up Tri-Cities Nonprofit Board and Chair of the Foster Kids Committee. She was also the first recipient of the Athena Young Professional Leadership Award, granted by the Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2012. In her free time, Mistee enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her husband and two sons either at the lake or on the slopes.

Karen Tomerlin, JD, joins the D.S. Baker Advisor team as a Trust Advisor bringing years of expertise in corporate and private law. Karen received her B.A. in Political Science from Western Washington University and received her law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law. As a native of the Tri-Cities, Karen recently moved back to her hometown after supporting her husband’s Navy career for over 20 years in various locations across the United States. Karen utilizes her diverse experiences to connect with clients and builds strong relationships to better help them reach their financial goals. In her free time, Karen is an avid tennis player and spends time coaching youth and young adults through local tennis programs.
