Why may I receive solicitation calls after a credit check, and how can I opt out?
After you apply for a loan, Baker Boyer may request your credit report from one or more of the major credit bureaus. These bureaus may then share certain information with other financial institutions, which can lead to unsolicited loan offers or marketing calls. This practice is often referred to as trigger marketing.
To help reduce these calls and offers, you can:
- Visit OptOutPrescreen.com or call 1-888-567-8688 to opt out of prescreened credit offers for five years or permanently.
- Register your phone number with the National Do Not Call Registry at DoNotCall.gov or by calling 1-888-382-1222.
- Have each borrower opt out separately if you share a credit account with a spouse, partner, or co-borrower.
Baker Boyer does not initiate these solicitations and is unable to stop them directly. Read this in-depth article that explains why you may receive solicitation calls after a credit check.
