Mark Kajita retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of Baker Boyer in 2026 after 23 years with the organization. A Walla Walla native who has called the community home for more than 50 years, Mark held a variety of leadership positions during his Baker Boyer career, including Senior Portfolio Manager, Executive Vice President of Wealth Management, President and CEO. He will remain an advisor and resource to Baker Boyer for one year to support the leadership transition.  

Prior to Baker Boyer, Mark worked as a CPA, a consultant with Ernst & Young and Director of Planned Giving at Whitman College. His career has given him broad experience in wealth management, business and succession planning, taxation, trust and estate planning, charitable giving and legacy planning. His expertise has also led to appearances on national broadcasts, including Bloomberg and CNBC. 

During his tenure as President and CEO, Mark helped guide Baker Boyer through significant periods of change, including the Financial Crisis of 2008, the COVID-19 pandemic and the Bank’s continued expansion into regional markets. Throughout his leadership, he remained focused on ensuring Baker Boyer’s long-term strength and its role as a strong local institution serving clients, shareholders and communities. 

Mark’s extensive community service has included Rotary, the Mill Creek Coalition and the Whitman College Board of Trustees. He has also served on the boards of the Blue Mountain Community Foundation, Episcopal Diocese Foundation, Downtown Walla Walla Foundation, Walla Walla Housing Authority, Valley Residential Services, Fort Walla Walla Museum and American Cancer Society, as well as Whitman College’s President’s Advisory Council.
