Our Approach

Kip Kontos

Vice President
Director of Regional Offices
  • Airline Transport Pilot, ATP
  • B.S., Professional in Aeronautics, Minor in Safety, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University

Kip joined Baker Boyer in 2020 to lead the opening of the Baker Boyer Financial Center in Yakima. He has deep roots in the Baker Boyer organization as a 6th generation descendent of the founder, Dorsey S. Baker and joined the Board of Directors in 2017. For the past 15 years, Kip has been an airline pilot for Alaska Airlines. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was granted a leave of absence that opened an opportunity to help Baker Boyer. He has since transitioned into a role that allows him to work with both Alaska Airlines and Baker Boyer.

As an airline pilot, Kip has learned to identify risk, create solutions, customer service and the importance of teamwork. These skills directly translate to his position at the bank. He works to implement the Bank's strategic plans in our Yakima and Tri-Cities offices while overseeing the managers of both offices.

Kip is involved in local youth organizations through coaching his daughters’ soccer teams and volunteering for their other activities. He also holds a volunteer board position on the Braden Road Irrigation District.
