Positive Pay

Help Protect Your Business From Check and ACH Fraud

Positive Pay helps businesses add an extra layer of protection by ensuring checks and ACH items are authorized before they post to the account.

Businesses using Positive Pay are able to upload issued check information into our Online Banking platform as checks are disbursed. As checks are presented for negotiation, Positive Pay verifies the check information to validate each item. If an item cannot be verified, it is flagged as an exception and made available for review by an authorized business user or rejected for negotiation until it can be approved.

ACH items will process through an ACH Filter to ensure the ACH company has been pre-authorized by the business. Items that are not pre-authorized must be reviewed and accepted or rejected by a business user when they attempt to post.

Service Details & Fees

Positive Pay is an effective tool for preventing fraud on business accounts by giving authorized users the ability to review check and ACH “exception items” before they are paid or returned. If an item cannot be verified, it can be reviewed and handled within the allowable timeframe.

Additional features include:

  • Email notifications for multiple users
  • Dual control options
  • Multiple users with access to designated accounts and specific permissions
  • Return unauthorized items within allowable timeframes, without additional paperwork to complete.
  • The ability to approve authorized items that may have been misread and honor them as normal

Check and ACH exception items must be worked between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. PST the business day after they are presented. Fees are assessed against the business account on the last business day of each month.
