Building our Future in Yakima

Baker Boyer is building a new facility to meet the expanding needs of the Yakima Valley. It will be completed in Spring 2020. This is in stark contrast to many financial services firms that have exited the market in favor of remote phone and web-based service only. In their article, "Connected communities: unite by design," our design partner, NewGround, explains how this new development is much more than a building.

June 2019 – Pouring Foundations

April 2019 – Site Preparations Begin

The construction is a double lot on the hillside across the street above the current location. Initial site preparations included the relocation of a sewer line and site grading.

March 2019 - Ground Breaking Ceremony

On Thursday, March 7, Baker Boyer held a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony which included with remarks from Megan Clubb, Chairman, Board of Directors. In addition to members of Baker Boyer’s Executive Committee and Yakima office staff, attendees included: Charlie Eglin of Tri-Ply (general contractor), Cory Trapp of Longwell + Trapp Architects (architect), and Shiela Finely of NewGround (facility designer).

December 2018 – Announcement

At its December meeting, the Board of Directors of Baker Boyer authorized the construction of a $10.5 million new branch in Yakima, which includes both the cost of land and construction. The building will be approximately 19,000 square feet.  It will house offices for Baker Boyer advisors and staff, client meeting and conference rooms, and new backup & recovery space for our IT group. It will also feature a large community conference space for up to 100 people designed to serve professionals and non-profits in the area, as well as Baker Boyer functions.
