Baker Boyer continues to serve; public spaces remain closed
Dear Community Members:
As restrictions temporarily ease as Northwest counties qualify for their state’s reopening phases, Baker Boyer will continue to offer a range of alternatives to in-person banking and we have also made the difficult decision to keep our public areas closed to the public and to our clients. Baker Boyer will continue to schedule in-person meetings on a limited basis—with appropriate protective measures— for essential banking business which requires a client to come into one of our branches. I would like to take a few minutes to explain the reasons for our decision.
First, Baker Boyer had made a very large investment to enhance our “digital branch,” enhancing capabilities to offer clients more flexibility through online & mobile banking, digital documents, video conferencing, and enhanced telephone communications. These capabilities have enabled Baker Boyer to interact seamlessly with the vast majority of our clients through the COVID-19 crisis.
Second, the use of our drive-thrus has been well-received by our clients and has been extremely effective in completing almost all of our clients’ transactions.
Third, through email, phone, text, and video, we have been able to effectively maintain the personalized “Baker Boyer Experience” for our clients through this pandemic.
Although it is not exactly how we would prefer to interact with our clients, it is very acceptable for us considering the circumstances.
Finally, and most importantly, Baker Boyer recognizes it has a duty to keep both you, our client, as well as our employees safe and healthy. We have determined that at this time we would be shirking our responsibility to our communities by unnecessarily exposing you or our employees to COVID-19 while there is no vaccine or readily available effective treatment developed. For us, that would be a violation of the trust that we have with our communities.
We encourage you to contact Baker Boyer if you have essential in-person business that must take place. This would include accessing your safe deposit box, notarizing a document, or if you lack the access to effectively connect with your advisor using available technology options. We continue to refine procedures and processes to accommodate as many of these instances as possible.
We will continue to communicate with you as circumstances improve and we look forward to the day when we can meet with all of our clients “Face to Face.”
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to institute prudent processes to keep you and our employees safe and healthy. We are living in stressful times; times we have not seen in our lifetimes. Baker Boyer is committed to your health and safety and working together with our communities so we can be even stronger for you in the future.
