Baker Boyer Announces Temporary Closure of Public Spaces— Drive-Thrus Remain Open


Mark Kajita, president and CEO of Baker Boyer, announces the temporary closure of public lobbies and meeting rooms at all Baker Boyer branch locations until further notice. For more details, view the video and read the letter below. 

Dear Baker Boyer Clients,

In order to help protect our clients and employees in addressing the potential risks presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, Baker Boyer announces the closure of all of our branch lobbies and meeting rooms to the general public effective Tuesday, March 17. Baker Boyer’s drive-thrus and ATMs will remain open. For those clients who require entrance into the branch to access their safe deposit boxes or sign paperwork, we will make arrangements for that to take place. For our client meetings that require face-to-face interaction, we will be shifting to a video conferencing option; our Advisors will be contacting our clients to set that up as needed. We are working hard to ensure our clients will receive the same relationship experience—we will simply be shifting much of it to digital means.

Overall, I believe this is a time to neither panic nor ignore precautions. Rather, it is a time to make calm, rational and prudent decisions in order to ensure your health and the health of others.

We understand that Baker Boyer plays a special role in our communities because we help our citizens transact with the rest of the world, financially. We are taking these measures to ensure continuity of business while helping to protect our clients and employees. We appreciate the trust and confidence you place in us, never more than in challenging times like these.

This closure affects public spaces in all branch locations: Walla Walla, Milton-Freewater, Kennewick, and Yakima. The Bank will reopen these public spaces as soon as possible, in compliance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and other federal and state officials. PLEASE NOTE: there have been no known employee or client cases of COVID-19 at any of our branch locations.

In the meantime, please consider using the following banking options:

  • Drive-thrus: Our drive-thrus remain available Monday-Friday. See bakerboyer.com/about/locations for the hours for your branch.
  • ATMs: Our drive-thru ATMs are available 24-hours a day.
  • By Phone: Call us directly at 509-525-2000 for assistance by a Personal Banker by Phone in our local Contact Center.
  • Online Banking: Log in to your account from any device via online banking.
  • Mobile App: The Baker Boyer app is a popular access option for mobile devices.

If you have an Advisor, please feel to reach out to him or her directly via phone or email. They will also be available for videoconferencing which they can help clients set up, when needed.
