Jim StottlemyreFinancial Advisor, Registered Investment Advisor
"Peer through the fog at the intersecting megatrends; then trust your instincts when others may not yet see what you see."
Spending over 20 years as a senior manager at the Pacific NW National Laboratory, Jim learned to first identify clients' requirements and dreams and then, and only then, design potential solutions. In his career as a Financial Advisor, Jim has similarly learned over the years to develop a financial planning model as a roadmap to enhance and protect his clients’ financial health. Although he is primarily a registered, fee-based, investment advisor, Jim can also broker a full range of financial and insurance products for clients who prefer that business model.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a Masters and PhD in Geophysics from University of Washington. In his first career at PNNL, he served in a variety of leadership positions within the Earth and Environmental Sciences Center. He began his second career with GE Capital, worked a number of years at Merrill Lynch and is now part of Baker Boyer Investor Services. He holds both Series 7 and 66 licenses and is a Registered Investment Advisor with commensurate fiduciary responsibility.
Jim has lived in Tri-Cities for 35 years and has been active in coaching youth sports, competing and instructing in couple dancing, and volunteers for organizations like Safe Harbor Crises Center. Jim and his wife Marilyn, District Manager for H&R Block, have three grown sons and two grandchildren, including one very precious little granddaughter.
